Announcing the 9th Annual White Squirrel Festival: May 26-27, 2012 (Memorial Day Weekend)! And this year’s music and street festival promises to be bigger, better and nuttier and ever! Experience two days of free concerts right on Main Street, with headliners Firecracker Jazz Band and Jeff Sipe Group… nearly 14 acts in all! Make sure to check out one of Brevard’s hometown favorites – Ethos! The Southeast Tourism Society named this May festival one of the Top 20 in 2009!
Our 5th Annual Squirrel Soap Box Derby is just one of many venues. This gravity race is the only legal opportunity in Brevard where you can try to break the speed limit down Jailhouse Hill! All vehicles are hand built and decorated to please the crowd, as well as designed for speed. Contestants compete for trophies for the fastest critter, the squirreliest theme, and the nuttiest design. In addition, businesses fight to win the overall Golden Nut Trophy, which combined speed and design.
