In Brevard, We Celebrate Our
White Squirrel Population!
Featuring two-and-a-half days of great live music, crafts, and food the White Squirrel Festival in Downtown Brevard, NC is the perfect way to experience everything this charming mountain community has to offer. Best of all it’s FREE! It has earned the reputation for showcasing many undiscovered artists and utilizing the abundant talent in the region. Whether it is Jazz, Bluegrass, Singer-Songwriter, or Rock and Roll, the eclectic music in this beautiful setting provides something for everyone. See whitesquirrelfestival.com for more info.
Got a knack for photography? Then grab your camera and take a few snaps of our most famous residents… Brevard’s very own white squirrels. They scamper all over this area, and we’ll even show you where to see them! Already have a great shot of one of these fuzzy little critters? Then submit it in our White Squirrel Photo Contest.
And speaking of scampering, be sure to check out the 5K and Fun Run White Squirrel races sponsored by the Brevard Rotary Club. Runners from the entire southeast love to go nuts in the cool morning mountain air at 2500 ft.
It’s all happening in beautiful downtown Brevard, voted one of the “Top 10 Coolest Small Towns in America” by Budget Travel, and in 2013 Outdoor Magazine listed Brevard as one of the top 5 places to raise outdoorsy kids. From festivals to waterfalls to hiking and biking, you can find it all this Memorial Day weekend in downtown Brevard, NC.
NO outside alcoholic beverages in the festival area. Coolers and backpacks subject to search.

HC parking areas are located in two places. There is a small area behind the Visitor Center at 175 East Main St. with available spaces. Access is through a gate from East Main St. behind the music stage. There will be signs.
HC parking is also available in the parking lot behind the courthouse. Enter on North Broad Street at the intersection of Caldwell. Police at the barricades will let you in. Turn left on Probart Street and the parking lot is up the hill on your right.
Drop Off Locations
If the driver isn't the one needing the space, passengers could be dropped off and parking is available in other areas of town around the festival. Drop off locations with convenient access to the festival would be on South Jordan Street near East Main Street, and behind the music stage on East Main Street near the visitor center. Both of these locations are near the music and beer garden.
